Working with ofCourseBooks

ofCourseBooks is a a great way to add workbooks to your Doki lessons. From their site...

" ofCoursebooks lets you create branded and embeddable workbooks that help your students learn faster and become more engaged with your material."

There are two ways to use ofCourseBooks in your Doki content:

The simplest way to add an ofCourseBooks coursebook is to copy the coursebook's link in the "ofCourseBooks Shareable URL" field in the Lesson editor. We'll do the magic on our end to display your coursebook at the end of the Lesson for you.

To find the Shareable URL, log in to ofCourseBooks and edit the workbook you want to add. Then click the  "Share/Embed" button to display the sharing codes:

To the right of "Shareable URL" click the "Copy" link to copy the link to your clipboard:

Back in the lesson editor in Doki, find the "ofCourseBooks Shareable URL" field and paste it in using on of the following methods:

  • Paste with keyboard (⌘. + V on Mac, Control + V on Windows).
  • Paste by selecting Edit > Paste from your browser's menu.

Click "Save" to save the lesson. Your coursebook will appear after your lesson content in the course.

Paste in Lesson

A less common way to add a workbook from ofCourseBooks is simply to paste the embed code into the lesson editor field. This requires a bit more planning, but allows you to decide where the coursebook appears in the lesson.

In ofCourseBooks, edit the workbook you want to add. Then click the  "Share/Embed" button to display the sharing codes:

We'll need the iframe version of the code so click the  "Can't embed script tags?" link towards the bottom of this window:

Click the  "Copy" link to the right of the <iframe> code to copy it to your clipboard:

Back in Doki, select in the lesson editor where you want the coursebook to be embedded and paste it in using on of the following methods:

  • Paste with keyboard (⌘. + V on Mac, Control + V on Windows).
  • Paste by selecting Edit > Paste from your browser's menu.

Your workbook should appear in the lesson editor inside an iframe. Click  "Save" to save the lesson.
